Lisa Disbrow was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force in 1985 and retired with 32 years of combined civilian and military service. She served as the 25th Under Secretary of the Air Force from 2015 − 2017, leading 660,000 personnel and overseeing an annual budget of over $130 billion. Disbrow focused on space and cyberspace resiliency, modernizing nuclear forces, acquiring weapons and intelligence systems, while also working to improve care and benefits for Airmen living with traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress.

Following the 2017 presidential inauguration, Disbrow served as Acting Secretary of the Air Force and the Secretary of Defense’s Principal Department of Defense Space Advisor until the Senate confirmation of Heather Wilson. Prior to these positions, Disbrow served as the Senate-confirmed Financial Management & Comptroller of the Air Force, Vice Director of the Joint Staff J-8 Directorate, Special Advisor on the National Security Staff in the White House, and as a Systems Engineer in the National Reconnaissance Office.

Disbrow served for over 23 years in the U.S. Air Force as an operations and signals/electronic intelligence officer and in programming and plans positions. She deployed in support of Operations Desert Storm and Southern Watch, prior to her retirement from the Air Force Reserve in 2008.

Disbrow currently sits on the Board of Directors of Mercury Systems, Perspecta, BlackBerry, Sequa, LMI, and the Air Force Association. She Chairs The Mitre Corporation’s AF Advisory Board and is a Senior Fellow at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. She joined the Wounded Warrior Project® Board of Directors in 2018.
